Otabi-An Hostel has neither car parking nor bicycle parking spaces.

By Train or Airport shuttle

Arrive at Kyoto Station via JR, Shinkansen, Kintetsu rail, Haruka Express or Kyoto Municipal Subway. From inside the station, locate and take the Hachijo West Exit (“Hachijo Nishi-guchi”), upon exit, walk about 700m west along Hachijo Dori Street.
Then, turn left just before Hacuhijo-Omiya bus stop to enter into a so narrow alley that ordinary-sized vehicles cannot go through. Otabi-An hostel is located approximately 40 meters south from Hachijo Dori Street.

If you arrive in Kyoto by JR train, go upstairs and go through Nishi guchi (West Gate) and head to Hachijo West Exit. When you reach at the Hachijo West Exit, follow the direction for Toji temple or Railway Museum /Aquarium.

If you arrive in Kyoto by Shinkansen, exit from the Central exit and then head to Hachijo West Exit.

In case you get in front of Kyoto Tower, it is the wrong side. Please go upstairs to Pedestrian Walkway, the 2nd floor of the station, to get out from Hachijo West Exit.

When using Airport shuttle from Kansai International Airport (KIX) or Osaka/Itami Airport, get off at Kyoto Station Hachijo-guchi then walk westward as shown above.
When stepping off a bus, your right hand side (same as the travel direction of the bus) is the direction to go by walk.

By Kyoto city bus instead of walking to our hostel

Take Route 16 and get off at Hachijo-Omiya bus stop, this is the second stop from Kyoto Station Hachijo-guchi, and the bus ride will take approximately four minutes depending on the traffic condition.

Kyoto Aquarium	A six-minute walk from Otabi-An hostel.
Kyoto Railway Museum (newly opened on April 29, 2016)	A nine-minute walk from Otabi-An hostel.
Rokusonou Shrine	A five-minute walk from Otabi-An hostel.
Tofuku-ji temple	Get off at Tofuku-ji station of the JR Nara line, two-minute ride from Kyoto station and walk, or take a City bus Route 207 for 14minues and get off at Tofuku-ji bus stop.
Kiyomizu Temple. Gion (Yasaka Shrine)	Take a City bus Route 207 at Toji Higashimon-mae bus stop for 24 minutes and get off at Gojo-saka, or for 28 minutes and get off at Gion bus stop.
Nijo-jo Castle	Get off at Nijo station of the JR San'in line, a six-minute ride from Kyoto station and a ten-minute walk, or take a City but Route9, 50 or Express101 at Kyoto Station bus terminal (Kyoto tower side) for 17 minutes and get off at Nijo-jo-mae bus stop.
Kinkakuji (Golden) Temple	Take a City but Express101 at Kyoto Station bus terminal (Kyoto tower side) for 37 minutes and get off at Kinkakuji-michi bus stop, or take a City bus Route 205 at Nanajo-Omiya=Kyoto-Aquarium-mae for 33 minutes and get off at Kinkakuji-michi bus stop.
Fushimi-inari Shrine	Get off at Inari station of the JR Nara line, a five-minute ride from Kyoto station.
Saga & Arashiyama area	Take a bus at Toji-Higashi-mon mae and get off at Shijo-Omiya, and use the Ran-den tram.
Okazaki District (Heian Shrine, Nanzen-ji temple, Zoo, etc)	Take Kyoto Municipal Subway, transferring at Karasuma-Oike station to change to Tozai line and get off at Higashiyama station or Keage station, or take a City but Express100 at Kyoto Station bus terminal (Kyoto tower side) for 26 minutes and get off at Heian-jingu Shaine.
Uji (Byodo-in temple)	Get off at Uji station of the JR Nara line, a 18-minute ride by a rapid service train “Miyakoji Kaisoku” from Kyoto station.
Nara (Todai-ji, Nara park)	Get off at Nara station of the JR Nara line, a 45-minute ride by a rapid service train “Miyakoji Kaisoku” from Kyoto station, or take Kintetsu rail at Toji station or Kyoto station, transferring at Yamato-Saidaiji station to change to Kintetsu Nara line and get off at Kintetsu Nara station.
Ise Jingu Shrine	Get off at Ise-shi station of the Kintesu railway, a 122-minute ride by a Premium Express "SHIMAKAZE".
Osaka	A 28-minute ride from Kyoto station with the JR special rapid train “Shin-kaisoku”.
Nagoya	A 37-minute ride from Kyoto station with the JR “Tokaido Shinkansen, Nozomi”
